The Box of Books Library is a member of the Southern Tier Library System and is chartered to serve the Village and Town of Alfred. We welcome all borrowers, including students from our local colleges and universities.
Alfred's Public Library is dedicated to the principle that free access to the individual pursuit of knowledge is essential to the support and preservation of democracy.
The library will continue to enhance the quality of life in this small rural area by serving as a center of community interaction and by providing an open and nonjudgmental environment in which all people have access to cultural, educational, and recreational materials, programming and services.
